Dear Parents and Guardians,

We would like to introduce ourselves, Jean Kempinsky and Melissa Busse. We are the two visual art teachers at Tierra Antigua for the 2017-2018 school year.  It is going to be a great year as we have a lot of really interesting things coming up in the art rooms. Your student will be drawing, painting, and sculpting in many different forms, looking at the art work of many different artists, and learning ways of making art. We will be following the National Core Art Standards. Your child will study the basic elements of art; line, shape, form, color, value, texture, and space. Our aim is to find something that your child will really love and to help each child soar as a Firebird artist!

As art educators, we believe every child is an artist and that an appreciation of art enriches all student’s lives. Learning how to look at things in a different light helps broaden horizons.  Thinking and learning about art from different countries is fun and makes it easier to understand other cultures. We hope your child enjoys art and keeps making art in one form or another all their lives.

Please feel free to contact us anytime at 792-3262 if you’d like to volunteer in the art room or if you’d like to schedule a visit. We are looking forward to working with your sons and daughters this year!

Warm regards,

Jean Kempinsky                                  Melissa Busse
